Top 10 Stores for Cheap Kids Clothes
Do you like kids clothing shopping? In the store? I’m giving you a virtual high-five over here if you do. Me? I do all the kids’ clothes shopping online and only with a great coupon code. I find going shopping with the kids to be extremely stressful. But give me some time in front of the TV, an end of the season sale, promo codes, and I am happy momma. Why? Because I like the challenge of finding cheap kids clothes! (This post contains affiliate links. If you shop from my blog, I may be compensated for clicks or purchases that you make. My Top 10 Places to Find Cheap Kids Clothes Online
The Children’s Place– TCP is my go-to online shop for kids basics and infant clothing. When the kids were changing so often, I loved TCP for great deals. It seems like every holiday there is a major sale going on and I can scoop up lots of shirts & shorts for less than $5 a piece. Yay! But before you check out, take a look for a promo code, there is ALWAYS one available!
Carter’s – I enjoy perusing Carter’s sales. I’m starting to sound like a broken record, Carter’s is usually my spot for winter sales. If you haven’t already noticed, I rarely spend any time clothes shopping for the kids once we are in a season. If we are short on something I’ll look for an email coupon (see below) or stop by Target.
Kohl’s – Does anyone else receive the Kohl’s emails? When I see one that screams 70% off KIDS CLOTHING, I become very interested. While collecting things in my virtual cart, you can bet that I’m simultaneously searching for the very best coupon code I can find. When I buy gifts for my friends’ kids, I usually shop at Kohls. Their return policy is extraordinary and there is always a physical store nearby. I’d feel super bad if I bought something too small and then no one can wear it.
Old Navy– I am signed up for Old Navy’s email list and periodically receive promo codes. I like Old Navy’s ability to coordinate outfits for the entire family. You don’t need to match, but a family can look well put together for rather inexpensively. Thats a win-win in my book. 🙂 In our family, you can count on lots of summer gear arriving from Old Navy.
Primary – This seems so silly until you need it. Primary offers plain clothing. Yes that is right, plain shirts and dresses without any logos. Sometimes I just don’t want a pink & purple decal print or an All-Star logo on the kid’s clothes. My previous purchases always arrived quickly and the kids clothes were a really good quality. Bonus shout-out for the items that are reversible. REVERSIBLE. Another virtual high-five to the momma who thought of the concept. Although Primary does not offer fabulous promo code driven sales, but I know that if I need something without logos, it’s my stop!
Janie and Jack – When we want to look really nice, I shop at Janie and Jack! Last month my brother was married (yay!). While my little man wasn’t in the wedding, I still wanted him to look nice for pictures next to his sister, a flowergirl. His shirt was a Janie and Jack button down that looked like something my husband would’ve purchased for himself in his size. In short, it just looked nice & fitted. These clothes are not our every day clothes, but the kind that when we go to a party, we want them to be comfy and still look good for atleast 10 minutes! *holding my breath*
Target – Have you fallen in love with their Cat & Jack brand? Even the boys clothes are adorable! With a great sale + Cartwheel app, you can find items for less than $4 apiece.
JCPenney – Have you checked out their clearance section online lately? Again with a promo code, you can find several items for kids under $6 an item! When I think of JCP, I think of the brick & mortar store, but I’ve always been more successful in finding cute kids clothes online than in person.
Steals.com -Steals is awesome for flash sales. I like that they don’t just last for one day. Sure things go live each day, anything left can be found in the archives. Extra plus? All of the items ship immediately. You don’t have to wait several weeks before your orders arrive. I’ve picked up name brand PJs, shoes, and accessories for A+O. One of my favorite finds was a super soft Halo brand pajama set for 60% off! They were perfect for cold Michigan nights. It’s June and my little girl still wants to wear the ‘Cozy PJs!’
Screaming Owl– Screaming Owl sells items that you pre-order and ship 4-6 weeks later. I’ve found several dresses over the past 3 years that always receive lots of compliments. In order to set my expectations, I always look at the offer end date, add 6 weeks and then another week for delivery. Doing that allows me to gauge what A’s dress size should be. Sometimes I size up. Dresses can be a little big, but I never want them too small! One of our favorite outfits was a simple blue pillow case style dress that had a cute crab applique. It was perfect for last summer and so many people asked if I made it myself.
Where are your favorite places to shop for kid’s clothes?
I find that when Kohl’s has sales it often has better prices on nicer clothing than Target. I also go into the store at the end of the season and buy 1 size up for next year for the grandkids. So far I have had good luck with the clothing fitting that next year.
I agree! I am always shopping one year ahead! This past January I stocked up on lots of 4T & 5T items for this upcoming Winter. I’ve found that Target online tends to have pretty good (for Target) sales compared to in-store. The only bummer is that you can’t use the Cartwheel app. 🙁
My wife and I usually buy clothes for our daughter at Carter’s. They can be really expensive, but sometimes you can find great sales. Thank you for mentioning all the other stores as well. I had never heard of Steals.com! I’ll need to check it out.
