Let’s Plan a Party: Construction Birthday Party Ideas
Our little man turned one year old in June! Ahhh how the year has flown by in our house. Last summer was such a blur and this summer already seems to be flying by. Slow down time. Like seriously! Since ‘O-Man’ is such a boy with tendencies that include walking quickly towards you and only stopping when something physically is in his way, we knew that this called for an exceptionally fun theme- a Construction Birthday party! Construction Birthday Invitation
I wanted to set the tone with a pretty cool invitation. I love invitations. If you haven’t already seen the one for Aubrey’s Rubber Duck party, check it out here. For Owen’s I used an Etsy invitation again. If you like it, here is the invitation listing. How cute, right? And inexpensive! Once I received the digital file, I printed it off on cardstock at Walgreens.com. *Keep an eye for a great promo code!* It was super easy and I was able to print off pictures from his first year on the back for free. It must be the former Southerner in me– who else loves personalization?
DIY Birthday Chalkboard
I made Owen’s chalkboard print myself. I don’t have Photoshop, it’s completely made of a single PowerPoint slide. Yes, really! I made it and printed it off at OfficeMax. Check out my how-to here!
Easy Coordinating T-Shirt
The birthday boy needed a sweet personalized tee for his party. If you think you’d like to have one of these ( and make it inexpensively!), check out the step by step how-to!
Fun Water Bottles
Since it was unusually hot for an early June party, water bottles were a must! I personalized the water bottles and the tent cards.
Owen was such a happy baby post party playing with his new truck!
What a fantastic roundup of ideas for a construction-themed 1st birthday party! I love the suggestions for DIY decorations and activities. The little hard hats for the kids are such a cute touch! Can’t wait to try some of these ideas for my son’s upcoming birthday. Thanks for sharing!
