Sweet Purple Baby Girl Nursery
When we found out that we were pregnant, I immediately began planning the nursery. It did not matter if I had 8 months until I needed to use it! My goal was to find a balance between my idea of baby décor and my traditional home décor.
What we did create, was a project that my husband and I both worked really hard on and enjoyed at the end. We tried to focus on the details. The photo collage above the changing table was driven by the fact that we lived across the country from our immediate family. We wanted to make sure that our little girl knew all about her grandparents, aunt, & uncles, and cousins.
Living in the Deep South necessitated a hair bow hanger! My husband was great enough to make us one that coördinated with the room. How adorable!
The IKEA bookcases added a little personality to the room. You can see the tutorial here. We wanted to do something a little different from the expected monogram. We found some wonderful options on Etsy and had this cool work of art created. Both the bookcases and artwork are the same color. We thought it would keep the room visually appealing and we didn’t need to buy more paint.
We had a small glider for those long nights in the beginning.
I miss this room. It was perfect for our growing family!
